Pantasaph Retreat Centre

What Is A Retreat?

If you have never been on retreat before, the choice placed before you can be daunting.

First and foremost, a retreat is a time of prayer and reflection, a time when you can step out of your day-to-day routine, its cares and concerns and spend time with God. It's a time to explore your faith in a deeper way; a time to share, join in community, be renewed and return home with a greater peace.

Public Directed Retreat

These are retreats open to all, are on a particular subject and will be led by a retreat director who has a particular knowledge and gift in the subject area.
The director will have formulated the programme in consultation with Br Loarne to enable you to receive the most benefit and the programme will usually include talks, prayer, discussion and quiet personal time.
At Pantasaph, such retreats generally begin with supper at 18:30 on Friday evening and finish after Sunday lunch at 12:30.

Individual Non-Directed Retreat

It may be that you would like to "get away from it all" simply "to be and to think", to be able to spend a short time on your own in God's presence to pray, listen and reflect.
If this is the case, an individual non-directed retreat may be for you. We will provide you with accommodation, three simple meals a day, space, peace and tranquility. At Pantasaph, you are also close to many walking areas, St Winefrides Well (a place of unbroken pilgrimage), St Beuno’s Ignatian Spirituality Centre, the north Wales coast and the city of Chester. How you spend your time is in your hands. The suggested offering for such retreats is £35 per person per night.

Group Retreats

A group retreat is where a group of friends or an organisation wishes to make a retreat together. No other persons will be admitted to the retreat. It is exclusively for the group. The group provides its own retreat director and programme. The Retreat Centre will make available its facilities in addition to food and accommodation. The suggested offering for such retreats is £40 per person per night.
